Grand Funk's in SAHARA, plus tour dates!!!

Grand Funk Railroad’s WE'RE AN AMERICAN BAND featured in Penelope Cruz/Matthew McConaughey blockbuster film, SAHARA


Grand Funk Railroad is pleased that their popular hit song "We're An American Band" is featured in the new Paramount Pictures movie, SAHARA, the number one movie at the box office for its opening weekend of  April 8.  Sahara is the swashbuckly saga of Dirk Pitt, the star of four decades worth of books by author Clive Cussler.

"This is an exciting movie," says "We're An American Band" writer and leadsinger, Don Brewer, drummer for the band Grand Funk Railroad.  "I've long been a fan of Clive Cussler. To have my song in a movie with Dirk Pitt is a major rush."

"We're An American Band" has been heard in the soundtrack of other recent films, including Cuba Gooding's RADIO and Disney's THE COUNTRY BEARS.

SAHARA features Matthew McConaughy and Penelope Cruz, and is an adventurous movie, featuring treasure hunts in Africa, intrigue and--of course--a man and woman falling in love at the end.

Grand Funk Railroad is playing dates throughout the United States this spring and summer, and will include the movie's song at each of them.
