This is Phoebe Legere’s "Love Song For Bobby," which is in the play:

The love of Phoebe’s character “Joe”’s life was a Bright Young Thing, a beautiful girl named Ruth “Bobby” Baldwin. They are buried together in the cemetery next to Whalers Church in Sag Harbor. Phoebe says, "Bobby had red hair and green eyes. Here I am playing "Bobby" live at Dixon Place, with guitarist Sean Harkness, bassist Skip Ward and drummer Rob Mitzner. Check out some other selections from my all original cast album...recorded LIVE with REAL musicians, no overdubs, and NO pitch correction last week.

"Did you buy your ticket to SPEED QUEEN yet? Hurry! We are selling out! BUY IT!

"https://soundcloud.com/user-208705364-606126082/sets/speed-queen-cast-album. This is Hot Jazz - original music written by me in the style of the Great American Songbook. Now that the Music Business has crashed and burned the real musicians can step forward and direct the progress of the art form."

Phoebe appears on the podcast, “I Love My Wife” and talks about meeting “Joe” Corsairs in real life.  This was when working at Bobby Vans in the Hamptons.  (Mick Jagger suggested Phoebe for the gig.)  https://www.ilovemywifepodcast.com/journal/2018/3/2/phoebe-legere-chats-about-her-new-lgbtq-play-speed-queen-the-joe-carstairs-story

Legere's 4-octave powerhouse voice and multi-instrument mastery powers the opulent, raw, sizzling R&B of the musical score. ALL MUSIC IS ORIGINAL and the SPEED QUEEN EP street date is March 7, 2018.  (Phoebe Legere’s 2017 album Heart of Love went to #18 on the national Roots chart.)

Speed Queen is a sensual, intoxicating #LGBTQ play that uncovers deep truths about the moments that define us, the women who shape us, and the ache of love that can last a lifetime.

Joe Carstairs, heir to the Standard Oil fortune, loved engineering, speed, and stiff competition.  Above all, Joe loved women. Joe Carstairs broke the world speed record for motorboat racing in 1926.

Legere, a musical and performance art virtuoso, brings kinky billionaire “Joe' Carstairs to life in this vibrant solo show. In addition, Legere portrays several of Carstair's glamorous movie star lovers including Tallulah Bankhead, Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Mabel Mercer.

The Message: This play is dedicated to all the #GNC (Gender Non-Conforming) sisters who have bravely gone before.

Jann Klose's MAKE IT BETTER available for Supreme Court Equality News

"Make It Better" from MOSAIC:

Singer-Songwriter's Soon-to-Be-Famous Quote, "If You Don't Know Love, You Don't Know Life"

Jann Klose's song MAKE IT BETTER is available for theme and bumper music for media discussions and segments on equal rights, economics, and voting topics.  The song appears on Jann's new album, MOSAIC, which is available on iTunes and Amazon.

Born in Germany, raised in Kenya and South Africa, Jann first came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland, Ohio. Now living in the Bronx, Jann recently sang at the Bronx Supreme Court in support of the LGBTQ & Allies Awards.  He has worked with Borough President Ruben Diaz on relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Music critic Jim Sullivan (jimsullivanink.com) wrote he was "immediately struck" by MOSAIC's "sweeping opening track 'Make It Better,' which begins with 'Welcome to the world of the great divide/Where the rich get rich and the poor stay poor all of the time.' He stands up for human rights, gay rights in one key verse, and boasts the line 'If you don’t know love, you don’t know life.'"

Continues Sullivan on "Make It Better, "It’s also got a reggae/rock feel that reminds me of something the Clash might have done in their 'Sandinista!' period. Sings Klose: 'It’s not too late to give up hate/You and I can make it better and help to cross that big divide.' It soars, it sweeps you up."

Another new Jann supporter is TIME MAGAZINE's Joel Stein, who mentions Jann in his June 24th column, with the comments, "It's hard to disagree with the impact music and the arts have on today's youth."

Jann's song MAKE IT BETTER will be the subject of his first music video, which he's working on now.  We are promoting the song, "Make It Better" through--at least--Election Day.

Jann is available for interviews, and there is a lot to talk about including singing Tim Buckley's parts in the Tribeca Film/Focus World movie, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY.

In addition to touring internationally, when he's home in New York City, Jann's been co-writing songs and performing with Gary Lucas (Captain Beefheart, Jeff Buckley).  He has shared the stage with a variety of performers including Pete Seeger, Renaissance's Annie Haslam, Jeffrey Gaines, Rusted Root, Rosanne Cash, Marty Stuart, Roger McGuinn, and the late Les Paul. Jann's music is heard on the GRAMMY nominated "Healthy Food For Thought" compilation, MTV CRIBS and movies, "Dead Broke" (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino.
