Jann is looking forward to sharing this ride with his fans and friends. “Love You The Most,” his duet with Alicia Madison, is still on the Media Base’s Hot AC and Top 40 radio charts after four months; it’s been streamed over 3.5 million times!  The song, (which previews the Amazon movie "Married Young") broke the Top 50, and inspired Voice of America’s Larry London to invite the two to be interviewed on his “Border Crossings” radio show heard all over the world.

This multi-Independent Music Award (IMA)-winning pop singer-songwriter has released six albums and two EPs. He was raised in Kenya, South Africa, Germany and the United States, and has performed on those continents plus in Asia through the years. Jann is an ambassador for Desmond Tutu's TutuDesk campaign and Brick by Brick Uganda. He is the singing voice of Tim Buckley in the movie "Greetings from Tim Buckley" (Tribeca Films / Universal).

Singers enjoy working with Jann. Signed to South Africa’s legendary Gallo Records, his most recent album, “In Tandem” includes duets with some of South Africa’s leading pop-singer-songwriters including coaches from that country’s “The Voice.” He’s toured there since 2015, first as an independent artist. Recently, Jann sang with Liz Callaway on her recent “Comfort and Joy – An Acoustic Christmas” album.

At the Bitter End show, Jann will perform both fan favorites and new songs for his upcoming 2022 album, including co-writes with Alex Forbes (known for Taylor Dayne’s “Don’t Rush Me,” and hits in South Africa). Onstage, Jann will be joined by guitarist Michael Also and special guest singers Brooke Matza and Ms. Madison; her dance music hit “Toxic Rain” hit number 1 on the Billboard Dance charts. Alicia’s 2019 EDM single “In and Out” streamed 10 million times on Spotify.

Jann Klose Wins Four Categories in the Vox Pop (People's Voice) For This Year's Independent Music Awards

A noted blues critic, who liked Jann's music, told me, "Jann Klose is a word-of-mouth artist.
That's how his career is going to grow."

Jann's fans voted for him to win in three eclectic categories in the VOX POP segment of this year's IMA (Independent Music Award) contest. The nominations were for music (Jann's cover of Tim Buckley’s "Song To The Siren") and design (website: jannklose.com and swag: his limited edition T-shirt that uses the lyric, "If you don't know love, you don't know life" from his indie radio hit, "Make It Better" of his new album, MOSAIC). There's also a fourth category as Jann sings, "Humble Wish” on ACTION MOVES PEOPLE, which won both the Vox Pop and music industry competitions in the Various Artists: Spoken Word category.

To date more than 100,000 fans have championed their favorite established artists and rising stars in The IMA Vox Pop poll. Martin Folkman, Executive Director of The Independent Music Awards, says, “We’re focused on placing exceptional artists and releases in front of music consumers around the world.” Open to self-released and indie label acts, the IMA’s ongoing promotions, distribution, and performance opportunities place winners and nominees in front of millions of fans and industry decision makers. See more at: independentmusicawards.com

Jann is currently working on a new album as an Americana duo (LUCAS KLOSE) with Gary Lucas (Jeff Buckley, Captain Beefheart). The two have been friends and collaborators since 2010, Gary turned Jann on to the music of Tim Buckley when he got Jann the gig, singing Tim's parts in the movie, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY (Tribeca Film/Focus World). In time he connected with Tim's lyricist, poet Larry Beckett. The two are writing together as well. In addition, both of Tim's bassists Jim Fielder and Jeff Eyrich have given Jann the thumbs up.

Jann has shared the stage with and/or opened for artists from all eras of music history including Rusted Root, Pat Benatar, Vonda Shepard, Jeffrey Gaines, THE VOICE's Rebecca Loebe, Gary Hoey, Suzanne Vega, Annie Haslam and Renaissance, Brett Dennen, Bret Michaels, and the late Pete Seeger and Les Paul.

RELIX's Nancy Dunham writes of MOSAIC, "Combine his songwriting and singing chops with his artful experimentation — songs include flavors of reggae, punk, and more — and you understand why Klose moves ever closer to pop-rock eminence."

Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Hamburg, Jann, first, came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland, He lives in the melting pot called New York City when he's not touring the world, playing between 75-100 shows a year in North America, Europe and Asia.

Jann Klose Has Four Nominations in 13th Annual Independent Music Awards

Pop Singer-songwriter up for eclectic categories in performance and design

Pop Singer-songwriter Jann Klose has received four nominations in the 13th Annual Independent Music Awards (IMA).  Some of the other nominees are Willie Nile, George Benson, Vienna Teng, Suzzy Roche and daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Martha Redbone, and the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus!

Also nominated are three artists Jann's opened for or shared the stage with: the late Pete Seeger, Antigone Rising, and Melissa Ferrick.

Jann's nominations are for: Cover Song, Website, Swag, and Album: Spoken Word with Music Accompaniment.

The Cover Song, for which Jann is nominated, is an a-cappella version of Tim Buckley's "Song To The Siren" off his new album, MOSAIC. "I fell in love with the song when I worked on the movie, GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY." Jann sings Tim's parts in the feature film, and soon after its release met Larry Beckett, who co-wrote the song and many others with Tim.  Now Jann and Larry are writing together.

In the Album: Spoken Word with Music Accompaniment category, Jann sings "Humble Wish," on the compilation ACTION MOVES PEOPLE.  The song was written by Krista Wallhagen and Kevin Mackie.  Backing Jann are musicians from the band Renaissance (bassist Dave Keys, drummer Frank Pagano, and keyboardist Rave Tesar), plus guitarists Kevin Mackie and Tim Gleeson.  Jann opened for Renaissance's 40th Anniversary tour in 2009.  He has also performed shows with both the group's long time singer Annie Haslam and co-founder Jim McCarty (The Yardbirds).

Jann is the only musical nominee, in this year's contest, up for two design categories: Website and Swag.  In the spirit of true independence, he's always created his own promo materials. "My swag is my T-shirt design which includes the lyric 'If you don't know love, you don't know life' from MOSAIC's first song, "Make It Better."

The LA-ist was truly on point when it wrote that Jann “can be accurately described as the man chosen to carry on the legacy of great musicians like Tim Buckley and Paul McCartney.” Soon after MOSAIC entered the Roots Radio charts above Bruce Springsteen, Sheryl Crow and Wilco at #22, the album ended up on first round ballots for the 2014 GRAMMY® Awards for Album of the Year and Pop Vocal Album.
Jann hopes that you will vote for him in all categories and would like for you to please tell your friends, "Thank you!" To vote you will need to register at www.independentmusicawards.com

Born in Germany, raised in Kenya, South Africa, and Hamburg, Jann came to the States as an exchange student in Cleveland. He performed in touring productions of Broadway shows (JEKYLL & HYDE, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR) and portrayed The Pinball Wizard in THE WHO’S TOMMY before he started his band. Jann’s music is heard on the GRAMMY-nominated HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOUGHT, on MTV CRIBS, the movie “Dead Broke” (Warner Bros.) featuring Paul Sorvino.
