"Nightclubbing" is the first ever documentary about the renowned New York City nightclub Max's Kansas City and the indelible impact it has had on the world of music, fashion, art and culture.

As legendary Alice Cooper puts it: "A million ideas we're launched back there", referring to the Max's Kansas City famous backroom where Andy Warhol held court with artists, actors/actresses and musicians including the highly influential Velvet Underground.

Max's was famous for hosting the creme de la creme of New York City luminaries from the art world and film stars to musicians and cultural icons.

Artists, Rock Stars, Junkies, Movie Stars, Gutter Trash, Record Executives all had a place to gather, intermingle, develop and cross pollinate.

Andy Warhol and his Superstars had a place to kick back, relax and revel in the freedom to express themselves in a casual setting.

Max's was a place where degenerate excessivness and debauchery were so common, that Iggy Pop bleeding on stage seemed lightweight compared to people shooting up amphetamines and having sex in the bathroom.

Starting in 1970 Andy Warhol cohort Danny Fields books the clubs first live music performances of The Velvet Underground, Alice Cooper and Iggy Pop, starting Max's on its way to being a live venue of credibility and influence.

The Velvet Underground and their summer 1970 residency kickstart the New York City live original Rock music scene.

As a showcase venue, future superstar artists such as Alice Cooper, Aerosmith, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Madonna, U2, The Beastie Boys had a place to develop and be discovered.

Transgender musical performances and performers had a safe proving ground to develop.

Iggy meets Bowie. They develop a friendship that becomes a phenomenal working artist relationship.

NYC Glam Rock had a place to develop. The New York Dolls influence both locals and foreigners alike. The New York Dolls and the New York Punk Rock scene inspired Malcolm McLaren to return to London from New York and put together the Sex Pistols, thus sparking the UK Punk Rock uprising and spreading the genre worldwide.

Art Rock had a place to start and the music duo Suicide had a place to develop and influence the New York City scene.

Bowie deems DEVO the future of music.

The New Hardcore Punk/Post Punk Rock movement had a place to develop.

"And EVERYONE IS HIGH AS A KITE!"

All at the nightclub called Max's Kansas City.

"Nightclubbing: The Birth of Punk Rock in NYC" will be the 6th acclaimed music documentary for Spanish filmmaker Danny Garcia and will add to the list of respected music documentaries Danny Garcia has produced and directed.

His other releases include "The Rise and Fall of The Clash" about the later era Clash; "Looking for Johnny", about New York Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders; "Sad Vacation", a film chronicling the final months in New York City of the Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious & his girlfriend Nancy Spungen, "Stiv: No Compromise, No Regrets" about Stiv Bators, legendary frontman of the iconic Ohio band the Dead Boys/The Lords of the New Church and Danny's most recently released film "Rolling Stone Life and Death of Brian Jones" about the founding member of The Rolling Stones.

ROBEONE - DOGS AND HALOS

Transglobal Records (Sony/Orchard)

Composed, Performed, And Recorded by Robert Schindler

“Rob wizzes around the keyboard like nothing else on this PLANET” (Kerry Barns,  One World Music Radio, New Age Music Planet )

At the young age of 70 Robert has just released his 6th solo recording, ROBEONE on LABEL.  The keyboardist says,  “Robeone is short for Robeoneknobe-- a nickname I got years ago at work for being a huge ‘Star Wars’ fan. It stuck and I decided to use it for my music name.’”

ROBEONE’s Six instrumental keyboard compositions effortlessly flow into different styles of New Age, Jazz, Prog and Fusion musics.  Robert uses a range of keyboard gear including Moog, Mellotron, Kurtzweil, Moog, Mellotron, Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Kurtzweil, Ensonic Roli Seaboard, EMU, and Ashun Sound Machine.   He says: “It’s my wish that this music will take my listeners away from the current times into a musical journey that serves as an opportunity to feel better.”

Robert has been recording since the early 1970s with progressive rockers Mayson on Bearsville Records, pop rock acts The States on Chrysalis and Boardwalk Records, the eclectic Tony Romero’s Vortex on Melodic Revolution Records, and the progressive rock group ZOOM with Paul Landry on New Age Music Planet Records. He’s worked with a number of artists—including notables Ronnie Spector and keyboards for Johnny Nash when “I Can See Clearly Now” was a hit.  He played keyboards for the Award-Winning documentary Soundtrack "The Fiery Narrows - Following The Path Of John Charles Fremont.”

Robert continues to collaborate with many artists…. Recently he had a solo set at ProgStock, and will be performing solo, as  well, this spring 2022 at RoSFest.  The ProgStock promoters dubbed Robert as the Patron Saint for the Bob Moog Foundation, for connecting them with that North Carolina-based non profit!

Dec. 20 Kathy Zimmer at the Rockwood Music Hall. NYC

Kathy Zimmer

Equipped with beautiful storytelling and an enchanting voice, NYC-based singer-songwriter Kathy Zimmer will be playing a show at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Blurring the lines between folk and pop music, this artist showcases her style of music that she describes as "cosmopolitan folk."

Tickets are $12.86 with service fees.  The ticket buy link is at: www.seetickets.us/event/Kathy-Zimmer/452790

The Rockwood—Stage 3 is at 185 Orchard Street, in New York City.

This is a 21 and over show.

Her first live performance since pre-pandemic, Zimmer looks forward to debuting a set of almost entirely new songs which were written over the past year and a half. Are any of us the same now as we were in February 2020? Kathy Zimmer felt as though she was evolving during this time, and had to create music that reflected that. Add to that the fact that her band moved from the city as a result of the pandemic, and she is challenged and excited to find a new performance format with which to present her songs.

Kathy Zimmer has released several recorded collections of her music, most recently a vinyl record in 2019 combining two EPs, White Noise and Sparkling Smile, and a separate single, a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” (all of which are available on all streaming platforms). A resident of New York City, Kathy Zimmer is a native of rural Nebraska.  Her original love of acoustic guitars and tight vocal harmonies was the product of being raised in a large musical family.  In school, Zimmer studied classical music, her education culminating in a master's degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.  Zimmer's roots and musical explorations have led her to create music she terms "cosmopolitan folk"--music that is sophisticated, sincere, smart and accessible with a variety of identifiable influences including country music, 1960s girl groups and classic pop singer-songwriters.  However, ultimately, Kathy Zimmer strives to make something new.

Rock n’ Reel Magazine has declared her the “latter day Joan Baez.” The Roots Music Report proclaims, “At various turns enchanting, haunting and soothing—and at times a bit of all of these—Ms. Zimmer’s sophisticated song crafting never fails to charm.”

Game of Chicken (Live at Progstock) Official Video

Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerus nailed the drama in corporations and in political groups, where they're deliberately creating drama for people they shouldn't. The song "Game of Chicken" is a visual for cars racing to each other, and one swerving away at the last minute. If you don't swerve away at the last minute, you'll be called "a coward," even though no one died.
